Welcome back to English!
This is the last of your two required English courses in your program. A whole year has gone by since your first college course and now it’s time to put your skills into practice once again.
Expressing yourself in a second language may be difficult. Therefore, it is important to focus on your goals, to be patient with yourself and others as you learn, and to take risks in order to build your confidence in your second language. As you know by now, if you want to know English, you must want to learn English. This means making a continuous effort and being aware of the language on a daily basis. You must be an active learner, creating opportunities to practice what you see and hear. It doesn't come easily, but it is possible.
This semester you are in a class with people from related programs, who share similar interests, and you will be exploring ideas and issues related to science and social science. By working together and supporting each other, you may be surprised at how much you will be able to learn and improve!
